Property Detail
Description
Rich in local history and full of possibilities! A rare 3.01 ± acre former school campus in the Whitley Gardens area east of Paso Robles. Once home to the Phillips Freedom School, the site includes the original schoolhouse, two classroom buildings behind it, 3 additional portable classrooms in unknown condition, an old well tower and pump house, a basketball court, and it is surrounded by rural farm land and vineyards. Zoned PF (Public Facilities), the property may suit a private school, nonprofit or social service program, organizational camp, equestrian or specialized education use, most subject to a Conditional Use Permit. Buyer to verify what uses will be allowed. The buildings have not been in use for about 10 years and are sold as-is. Because the site was a public school and the parcel was tax-exempt, county records show no building size or permit history. Well is not currently in use, septic status unknown, and power has been disconnected. Buyer to verify all. With the right vision, this former school campus could once again become a place where the community gathers and new opportunities take shape.
